Lindsey Nobel American, b. 1969

Lindsey Nobel is an American artist born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1969 and raised in San Diego, California. She lives and works in Los Angeles; her practice also draws on time spent in Monterey, San Francisco, Rome, and New York City. She builds a drawing language on the invisible connections that unite humans with organic and inorganic phenomena. Though abstract, her series engage the nervous system, marine biology, the internet, the global economy, and data-mapping networks — an immense grid of energy between human, machine, and spiritual consciousness. Media include oil, acrylic, ink, resin, coffee, charcoal, and pen on canvas, masonite, and wood. She earned a BFA in Painting from the University of California, Santa Cruz (1992), and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (1991), and the Royal College of Art, London (1989). She was selected for the Lucid Art Foundation Artist Residency in 2021. Recent exhibitions include Into the Invisible at the Visual Arts Center, Singapore (2024), and Hologram at The Wall Art Gallery, Miami (2022). She is presented by The Wall Art Gallery, Miami.
