In the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington DC I learned that all indigenous peoples in Latin America, from Alaska to Patagonia, are connected through their DNA. In other words, they all either crossed through the Bering Strait or arrived in Asian vessels through the Pacific. What I want to achieve with these artworks is to showcase the link between Asia and Latin America. A particularly noteworthy country in this context is Peru, in the Andean region. There, you can observe ethnic groups and populations that surprisingly share the same skin-tones, facial features, and physical characteristics found in Tibet, near Everest, or in high-altitude regions. This demonstrates a close bond not only in terms of DNA but also in the structures we observe in humans, uniting Asia and Latin America. This work is part of a project I have been working on for several years, focusing on human bodies and DNA at a global level. I even extracted a stem cell from my own body to represent different ideas about how the difference between one human and another is reduced to just 0.1% in their DNA. In other words, we are all one and come from the same mother.

En el Museo del Indio Americano en Washington DC, aprendí que todas las tribus indígenas americanas desde Alaska hasta la Patagonia están conectadas a través de su ADN, o sea todos cruzaron por el estrecho de Bering o llegaron con embarcaciones por el lado asiático a través del pacífico. Lo que quiero hacer con estas obras es mostrar el vinculo entre Asia y Latinoamerica. Un país muy particular en este contexto es Perú, en la región de los Andes. Allí, se pueden observar grupos étnicos y poblaciones que comparten sorprendentemente los mismos colores, rasgos faciales y características físicas que se encuentran en el Tíbet, cerca del Everest o en regiones de gran altitud. Esto demuestra un estrecho vínculo no solo en términos de ADN, sino también en las estructuras que observamos en los seres humanos, lo que une a Asia y América Latina. Este trabajo es parte de un proyecto que llevo realizando durante varios años y se centra en los cuerpos humanos y el ADN a nivel global. Incluso extraje una célula madre de mi propio cuerpo para representar diferentes ideas sobre cómo la diferencia entre un ser humano y otro se reduce a apenas un 0.1% en su ADN. En otras palabras, todos somos uno y provenimos de la misma madre.
