When constructing her anthropomorphic sweet treats Camila selects materials which highlight the bold colors and exaggerated shapes of classic desserts. Utilizing such materials as fiber reinfoced resin, which is later hand-painted in order to attain a surreal glow, proof is given that her art is a matter of taste. Another unique aspect of Camila's sculptures is that touching is encouraged as much as changing what the pieces are wearing by adding a new scarf, fishnet stockings or sneakers to enter Camila's whimsical world. Each sculpture is a unique handmade original of mixed media procedures. The election of the materials used for each artwork varies depending on the technical needs of the piece for its intended performance. The finished sculptures are then hand painted with synthetic or water-based enamels and finally coated in a protective anti UV varnish. As a result, the specific features of realism mixed with beautiful surrealism are enhanced, filling the Artwork's unique character with life. The final look and details will be defined by each piece's original existence and elections in accessories and esthetics, achieving a creative nature with the power to evoke and convey the desired message.
